Time and patience were the key factors in the auction house's ability to assemble a coherent, high-quality ensemble of works of art, furniture and carpets from a wide variety of provenances. It took three years, but the gamble paid off.

The sale is expected to fetch between €1.5 and €2 million, but this figure could be surpassed. The first to enter the arena is the collection of Mr. D., among which eighteen works have been selected. Perhaps better said hand-picked. This Parisian first acquired the pieces in the 1990s. The panel painted by Jan Bruegel the Elder (1568-1625) depicting the story of Lot and his daughters, signed and dated 1609 is the highlight. It is expected to garner €300,000/400,000. Next to it, a painting by Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805), Rêverie , is expected to fetch €200,000/300,000.   Francisco de Goya (1746-1828), Los Capricios , complete suite of 80 plates in first edition of 1799, etching and aquatint on laid paper in calf binding, 21.5 x 15 cm/8.4 x 5.9 in (subjects).
