A silo and the remains of an IX-Xth century garbage dump have just been unearthed by the INRAP, confirming the existence of a Carolingian settlement - a reflection of the urban renaissance of the city during the Middle Ages. The remains of a 16th-century jeu de paume (precursor to tennis) are also being excavated.
