Ancient city of Hegra in Saudi Arabia now open to tourists

Published on , by La Gazette Drouot

The archeological site of Hegra, an important city in the Nabataean kingdom, has opened. Located in the desert north of AlUla, Hegra, also known as Mada'in Saleh, has been left nearly undisturbed for 2,000 years. The rock-cut constructions share similarities with Petra, located a few hundred miles north in Jordan.
