American artist and poet John Giorno dies at 82

The New York native, renowned for his revolutionary art, poetry, and LGBT activism, died on October 11. He featured as the nude resting figure in Andy Warhol’s 1963 film Sleep, and in 2015 was the subject of a retrospective at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, organized by his husband and titled I Love John Giorno.
