7 looted works returned to the rightful owners of Marguerite Stern

Published on , by La Gazette Drouot

The 18th and 19th-century paintings and drawings were returned on October 29th. They had been requisitioned in Paris during the Occupation, then entrusted to the Louvre and Orsay under the MNR label. Their provenance was established thanks to the record of the sale of Meissonier's Joueurs d'échecs to Edgard Stern.
