A world record for this special commissioned tapestry illustrating the enchanting world Hicks creates with her materials.

Preferring textiles to paints, Sheila Hicks wove La Fugue, a fabric bas-relief, for the Rothschild Bank’s Parisian headquarters.

This prestigious program features modern painting, sculpture and textile but also includes the next chapter in the dispersal of the collections of the ducal house of Uzès.

For this edition of "Carte blanche" the American artist, who lives and works in Paris, has created an installation at the Manufacture des Gobelins that for the first time French wools. The installation will be inaugurated on October 19 and be on a display through December 12.

At the Ferri sale on December 17, a lacquer panel by Jean Dunand representing Three Leopards Drinking changed hands for €437,920. A tapestry by Sheila Hicks also created a surprise when it fetched €94,024, placing it in the top 5 of the artist's highest bids (source: Artnet).
