Gilded and chased processional cross with the... Lot 23

Gilded and chased processional cross with the figure of Christ. Spain. Gothic. 14th century. The ends form fleurs de lis. In the centre the figure of Christ is affixed. The surface has engraved decoration of flowers and symbols. The node of the capital is dodecahedron shaped and engraved with floral motifs. On the back there is a Christ the Panctocrator in the centre and the rest of the decoration is made up of garlands of vegetation and flowers. Probably originally the figures of Mary and Saint John at each side would not have been there. Cross measurements: 50,5 x 23 cm. Christ measurements: 12,5 x 11 cm.
