A CREAM-GLAZED POTTERY TOMB FIGURE OF A DRAGON Sui/ Tang dynasty, 7th century 34,5 cm high The mythical beast seated on his hind legs on an oval pierced base, along the shoulders a series of volutes suggesting the presence of wings, the powerful head with open mouth showing the fierce teeth, large bulbous eyes and wide nostrils, on top of the head a pair of elegantly curved horns, the whole body covered with a greenish white glaze.
