Cet accouplement produit deux oeufs: l'un donnera naissance aux Dioscures, les jumeaux Castor et Pollux, qui participèrent à l'expédition des Argonautes, l'autre à Hélène et Clytemnestre, héroïnes de la Guerre de Troie.
