Une magnifique et rare vue d'une exceptionnelle colonne de fumée s'élevant dans le ciel telle une sculpture fantastique surmontée d'un trait de flamme et d'une navette spatiale (COLUMBIA Mission STS-5). Ce genre de colonne de fumées impressionnantes pouvait appraître seulement au cours des premiers tirs de navette spatiale en raison de la nature de la première génération de carburant que celle-ci utilisait. Cette scène a été photographiée depuis les airs par le célèbre astronaute John W. Young qui fut le commandant du 1er vol historique de la navette spatiale COLUMBIA (STS-1). This kind of impressive smoke column could appraître only in the first space shuttle shots because of the nature of the first generation of fuel it used. This scene was photographed from the air by the famous astronaut John W. Young, who was the commander of the 1st historical flight of the space shuttle COLUMBIA (STS-1).
