Goldscheider (Austrian), a large earthenware vase with two branch-like handles and two chameleons c.1900, impressed Goldscheider Wien, 0990 47 69, Gesetzlick Geschutzt, artists signature on the side The broad tree-trunk-like vase with two branch handles terminating with oranges and leaves, having two chameleons perched on the rim, their tails trailing down the sides, mat finish (slight restoration) 37 cm high There has been some restoration to colour on one of the chameleons and perhaps on the rim too, as there are a few flakes to the colour on the chameleons this could be covering similar glaze flaking. Some additional occasional nick and marks with some rubbing. The interior has marks and dirt. Underside of base has some scars and heavy wear to grazes and scuffs to centre colour. We cannot decipher the signature but we would be happy to email you an image of it on request.
