William Moorcroft (British 1872-1945), an earthenware 'Pomegranate' pattern Ginger jar and cover c.1915, green facsimile signature W Moorcroft partially obscured by a paper label 'W. Moorcroft Hand made pottery', and retailers label 'J. Walch & Sons Ltd. Hobart' The shouldered oviform and cover tube-lined, coloured and glazed with pomegranates, berries and leaves against a blue ground 15.5 cm high Crazing to the glaze overall. A few tiny nicks to the glaze at the edge of the foot. Wear to underside foot rim. Some texturing to the rim of the lid and a blemish beneath the glaze. Interior is clean.
