Nicola Consoni Lot n° 7

Melissa shows Bradamante her descendants fresco laid on canvas, applied on wood, without frame 64.5 x 152 cm The work was originally located in the Room known as the Consoni or the four Poets, on the top floor of Palazzo Bolognetti-Torlonia. Originally the painting was oval in shape. PROVENANCE Palazzo Torlonia, Rome, until about 1900; bought by the Neapolitan merchant Francesco Tancredi and with him until 1902-1903;  arrived in the collection of the Countess Amalia Canonica in the 1920s and by inheritance to the current owners.
