The work was originally located in the Room known as Bigioli, or Raphael, on the top floor of Palazzo Bolognetti-Torlonia.
PROVENANCE
Palazzo Torlonia, Rome, until around 1900;
purchased by the Neapolitan merchant Francesco Tancredi and with him until 1902-1903;
arrived in the collection of the Countess Amalia Canonica in the 1920s and by inheritance to the current owners.
