Peinture en rouleau à décor de pivoines en floraison. Encre de Chine et couleurs sur soie. Chine, XVIIIe siècle. Signé en idéogrammes et cachets de l'artiste Jiang Ting Xi : Nan Sha et Jiang Ting Xi, au printemps 1730 en haut à droite. Hommage à la manière d'un des quatre maîtres de la fin des Yuan (Yuan Ren). L'artiste reprend ici le style de Wu Zhen (1280-1354) peintre chinois, poète et calligraphe. Jiang Ting Xi (1669-1732) a publié une version revue et augmentée de la plus grande encyclopédie imprimée au monde (Qinding Gujin tushu jicheng) 20 ans après sa première publication. Il était le précepteur impérial (dishi) de l'empereur Yongzheng sous la dynnastie Qing. Dimensions de la peinture: 81x44,5 cm. (Taches à gauche) - Scroll painting decorated with blooming peonies.
