Hogenberg, Frans Lot n° 1044

Antwerp: 3 newsprints. Engr., ca. 21 x 27,5 cm, exceptionally rare and nice original colour, with printed text in lower margin, laid paper, unsigned (ms. notes in lower margin on 1 f.). Three "Geschichtsblätter" after Frans Hogenberg representing the Spanish Fury at Antwerp on November 4 and 5, 1576, when Spanish tercios of the Army of Flanders began the sack of Antwerp, leading to three days of horror among the population.
