Damien Hirst - Spin Painting .Acrylic paint on paper Ukraine, 2009 Damien Hirst (born 1965) – British painter, sculptor and concept artist Verso stamped signature ‘DHirst’ as well as typographic inscription and blindstamp ‘Hirst’-Offered acrylic painting was made in 2009 in public collaboration at a so-called Damien Hirst Spin Workshop, which celebrated the opening of his exhibition ‘Requiem’ at Pinchuk Art Center in Kiev. Requiem was a major retrospective of over 100 works by Damien Hirst dating from 1990 to 2008, which ran from 25th April until 20th September 2009. For that four spin painting machines were installed and trained assistants helped to produce paintings in Damien Hirst style. Hirst himself also spent some hours at the workshops and created spin paintings together with the visitors. Around 600 spin paintings resulted from these sessions. The dimensions measure 55X52 cm.
