The flattened vase is decorated with two shaped openwork handles at the shoulder and neck. One side is decorated in iron red and en grisaille enamels with a Luohan seated in front of a censer, the scene is inscribed and dated dingxu year and with the signature of Wang Bu. The other side is decorated with two birds on a prunus branch, the scene is inscribed with the signature of Wang Bu. The base is marked with a six-character 'yuan wen wu guo zhi zhai' seal mark.
