PICARD, E. Le juré. Monodrame en cinq actes. Brux., Monnom, 1887. (8), xlvii, 133, (8) pp., last blank. W. 9 illustr. on Japanese paper: 7 or. plain lithogr. by Odilon Redon (5 signed on the stone), an etched self-portrait by Odilon Redon, and an etched portr. of Edmond Picard by Théo van Rysselberghe, all under captioned tissue guards. 4°. Or. vellum w. overlapping sides, sides and spine gilt, spine w. red ti. label, uncut. (Spine a bit soiled/browned, the text-lvs. opposite the tissue guards a bit browned/foxed, tear in 1 tissue guard). Printed in 100 numbered copies of which this is nr. 45. With an original letter to (?) in French - dated 1883? - by Picard tipped in on the first free endpaper, written from Chateau Famelette in Huccorgne (South of Liège). From the library of Emile van der Borch van Verwolde (1910-1943) and with his bookplate. Van der Borch was a known collector of bibliophile publications and collected mainly French literature. His uncle by marriage was Andries Bonger (1861-1936), friend of Van Gogh and collector of modern art, particulary Odilon Redon.
