A 19th century Continental pietra dura inset glove box Of carved rectangular form, the hinged lid inset with the specimen stone panel decorated with floral sprays, above the plush lined padded interior, above the main body standing on gilt metal mask form legs. 35.5 cm wide. Some gilt wear/loss to metal wear, small loss to bottom of fleur-de-lys to one corner of top, some general wear, some staining and wear to interior, the interior with handwritten inscription dated 1896.
