In the late 1990s, Tokion commissioned several graffiti heavyweights, including Barry McGee , Phil Frost, Shepard Fairey, KAWS, and Misha Hollenbach, to participate in a project as representatives of the new generation and evolution of the original 80s graffiti movement. These were distributed as part of a Tokion guerrilla marketing campaign way back in the day, way before Kaws is what he is today.
