‡ A FINE HIMALAYAN DAGGER, BHUTAN, NEPAL OR TIBET, 19TH CENTURY with tapering single-edged blade, characteristic hilt encased in gilt metal chased with traditional scrollwork, openwork pommel decorated with scrollwork enriched with hardstone beads, in its wooden scabbard incorporating a large gilt-brass and silver openwork panel at the front, two further panels at each side and a broad locket at the top, all pierced with scrolls inhabited by mythical beasts and a demon mask and enriched with further coloured hardstones 27.8 cm; 11 in blade
