Elle a 34 ans mais, brûlée par la vie, paraît plus âgée. Edith Piaf, en 1950, interprète Hymne à l'amour avec les gestes d'une tragédienne. Elle a écrit les paroles de cette chanson, un an plus tôt, en pensant à l'homme qu'elle aimait: le boxeur Marcel Cerdan. Il est mort dans un crash aérien, en octobre 1949, avant qu'elle ait pu l'enregistrer. Triptyque. 36 x 102 cm. Tirage postérieur sur papier baryté. Encadrement bois noir et passe-partout tournant. Edition 1/1. Edith Piaf was only 34 years old in this picture, but life's pains make her look much older. She is seen here in 1950 in a dramatic performance of the tragic Hymne à l'amour. It was one year after she wrote the lyrics to this song while thinking about the man she loved, the boxer Marcel Cerdan. He died in a plane crash in October, 1949, before the song was ever recorded.
