BELGIQUE, vers 1840-1850 Pair of officer's pistols. Capsule-action rear locks and scroll-engraved hammers. Octagonal damascus barrels with patina. Numbered underneath 2853 with Liège proofhouse stamp. Scratched. Cal. 14 mm. Ornate breech shafts. Walnut barrels with gadrooned stocks. WP monogram inside one barrel. Pale brass (?) fittings, cut and decorated in sequence, finger rest bridges. Two horn ramrods, brass end caps. Barrel length: 17.7 cm - Overall length: 31.4 cm. Some wear, scratches, small cracks and knocks; small chips to the wood. In an English-style walnut case (replacement), decorated with inlaid fillets and brass plate (blank), lined with cream suede with accessories (stamped copper hunting powder flask, wooden capsule box and bullet mold). Wear, scratches.
