Superb poster designed by V. Demeures (1895-1978) for the silent documentary directed by Léon Poirier, entitled "La Croisière noire. Citroën expedition Centre-Afrique. Second mission Haardt - Audoin-Dubreuil". Released in March 1926, and premiered at the Paris Opera, this film was a huge success.
It depicts a Sara-Djingué woman, whose lips each enclose a tray, the largest measuring 24 cm in diameter (Mogroum, Chari territory, south of Chad).
Minimal traces of old folds. Smudging on the right margin.
