Mr. B. Collection WITHOUT RESERVATION 1959 BUICK Type ELECTRA CONVERTIBLE Serial number : CA8F104295 Desirable bodywork Same owner for 32 years French registration Rare, precious, desirable, the Buick Electra is produced from 1959 by the American brand. It succeeds the Super and Roadmaster models. The first generation was only produced until 1961, with just over 20,000 units produced. More discreet than the Cadillac, the Buick was even used by the Kennedy family. The Electra is powered by a 6.6L Wildcat V8. This sumptuous vessel adorned with bird wings represents, in our eyes, the most beautiful American car of the mythical American vintage. The 1959 vintage was a pivotal year for Buick, whose range, which had not been redesigned since 1936, was recomposed. It is now based on three models that receive new names. The LeSabre, Invicta and Electra replace the Special, Century, Super and Roadmaster of the fifties - the Limited having lived only for the 1958 vintage. The size of its proportions, the sobriety of its decoration and the airy elegance of its stern give the Electra of 1959 an unparalleled majesty. If the hyperpanoramic windshield with its S-shaped profile appears to be an extravagance, the grille, soberly decorated with a carpet of chrome rectangles, finds its place between the two lines of the hood and the bumper without any flashy effect. And the presence of oblique headlights sheltered under the wings lightens the rigor of the lines. The model presented is equipped with its automatic gearbox in original working order. This is very rare even in the United States. All these equipments are electric. Original, the Buick Electra is one of the most elegant American cars with large fenders, it is the Delta Fin line.
