1939 BMW Type 327 SPORT CABRIOLET Serial number : 74003 Exceptional car Good condition Collector's grey card 150 000 / 200 000 Issued from the 326 sedan of 1936, the BMW 327 was born one year after its big sister and will be produced in 1 306 examples until 1955. With a very aerodynamic design, the body of the 327 is based on a chassis-frame designed by Fritz Fiedler, German engineer and car designer. The braking, the front suspension and the gearbox were taken from the 326 because they were appreciated by the brand's customers. Under the hood, the German manufacturer came to house the six-cylinder 2.0L M78, also proven and that will be found in other manufacturers until the 50s. Fueled by two Solex carburetors, the M78 will develop 55 horsepower to take the 327 to 125 km/h. The 327 was first released as a convertible, then as a coupe, and it won hearts. The Bavarian manufacturer will later decide to evolve the set and install in the luxurious car the six-cylinder M328 for a more increased power. Today rare on the market, the 327 convertible has a modern design for its time. The English manufacturer Frazer-Nash even produced right-hand drive models for the British market. At the end of the Second World War, it was the turn of Bristol Cars to start its automotive career. The small firm (originally in the aeronautical world) started its production with the Bristol 400, an evolution of the 327 coupe. The presented car was first registered in 1939. A letter from BMW gives us some data about the car. The numbers are corresponding. The car has been repainted a few years ago in a different color than the original one. The black and grey biton gives it a modern and luxurious look. The dashboard is not original but suits it well. The mechanics work well. The gearbox does not hang up. A double clutch is required! The instruments seem to work normally. Only the turn signals need to be revised. The melodious inline six-cylinder engine will accompany anyone who gets behind the wheel of this rare convertible with a very distinguished style. 1939 BMW Type 327 SPORT CABRIOLET Serial number: 74003 Exceptional car Good condition FRENCH HISTORIC Registration 150 000 / 200 000 The BMW 327 was born one year after the 326 sedan of 1936 and 1,306 were produced until 1955.
