Richly illustrated edition according to drawings taken on the spot by Thomas Allom and with descriptions of the manners, customs, architecture... of the Chinese people by Clément Pellé. Divided in 4 volumes, it is decorated with 4 engraved titles and 120 MAGNIFICENT engraved hors-text plates; views, scenes of life, costumes, crafts... Slight insolation on one plate otherwise a very good copy without any foxing.
