"Fundamental work for the history of the Order" (Hellwald). The author lived for a long time in Rome, was sent by Gregory XIII to Malta and it was there that he conceived the idea of writing the history of the Order to which he devoted almost the rest of his life. The work is illustrated with 3 engraved titles and a beautiful engraved plan of Valletta. Copy in poor condition, titles trimmed short with lack, rings, damaged bindings. (Hellwald, p.28).
