SILVER SOUPIER and DISPLAY STAND, ENGLAND, 1756 and 1763 by Edward WAKELIN received in 1748 and by John PARKET I and Edward WAKELIN received circa 1759 (for the display stand). Of oval form, it rests on four scrolled feet set on half-spheres with foliage attachments. The body is decorated with twisted ribs, engraved on the body with a sea horse and provided with two rocaille handles. The rim is underlined by a gadrooned molding. The lid is topped with a frieze featuring a pomegranate with its foliage. The slightly domed display case, with a gadrooned edge interrupted by foliage, is decorated with twisted ribs radiating from a sea horse engraved in the center. At the edge of the rim are four leaf-decorated stoppers for wedging the tureen. Wt. 3 926 g. Length. 42,5 cm. Height 23,5 cm.
