India, Sultanate, 15th/16th century Text: Sura Az-zumar (39): from half of verse 66 to half of verse 72. Ink, gouache and gold on paper, calligraphed on both sides with 11 ll. per page written in black and the word "allah" in gold, in Bihari influenced by Muhaqqaq, on a background streaked in red with polychrome floral decoration. The verses are separated by gold rosettes punctuated in red and blue. The margins cut along the text area, replaced by a modern paper. Text: 38,5 x 24,5 cm; page: 49,5 x 34,5 cm
