MORTON (Richard) [and others]. Opera medica [...]. Editio novissima [...]. Lugduni [in Lyon], Apud Petrum Bruyset et socios, 1737, 2 vols. 4°, [14]-155-1 blank-[28]-163-[35]-207 (restoration to the lower outer corner of f. 177/178 with loss of some letters)-[8] p., 3 folding tables, and [10]-84-[14]-103-[17]-72-[8]-100-40-[8]-44-160 p., full contemporary brown calf, decorated spines (some minor wear, some browning). A fine copy. Morton (1627-1698) was the first to apply the principles of pathology to the study of tuberculosis and to have given a clinical description of anorexia. Morton's works (including the treatise on smallpox) form the first volume. The second volume contains various other treatises - especially on smallpox - by Walter Harris (1647-1732), William Cole (1635-1716), Martin Lister (1636-1712) and Thomas Syndenham (1624-1689), Charles Leigh (1662-1701), Vincent Ketelaer, Antonio Sidobre... A precious collection of texts.
