Without a doubt one of the best general treatises on gnomonics, moreover perfectly illustrated, realized under the patronage of the Academy of Sciences by the erudite and learned Benedictine François de Bedos de Celles (1709-1779). The undoubted advantage of this treatise lies entirely in the clarity of its practice and its exposition, which allow for an easy and meticulous application.
