Les Poésies. Paris, La revue indépendante, 1887. In-4, brown morocco, jansenist, interior gilt filleting, gilt head, cover, soft case (Weckesser et ses fils). Autographed edition. First edition, except for L'Après-midi d'un faune published previously. Facsimile reproduction of the author's manuscript, printed at 47 copies on Japanese paper. The volume is composed of 9 quires, each with a printed and numbered cover. The first quire contains the justification of the printing and the frontispiece etching by Rops : La Grande Lyre. A copy in perfect condition, with all quires justified by the same number (n°9). An important unpublished autograph letter of Mallarmé of 4 pages, addressed in September 1894 to Charles Morice, is bound at the head with its envelope. It is related to Mallarmé's collaboration with the Figaro where the poet published his great article on the Literary Fund to serve the cause of literature and publishing. Ex-libris Edmée Maus.
