KACHAN carpet (Iran), mid 20th century Dimensions : 358 x 240cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. An oblong marine field, with braces, covered with polychrome scrolls, supports a medallion in polylobed mandorla, brick and ivory and sky, with floral stems. Four vegetal spandrels, brick, ivory and sky, tiered frame the whole. Six counter borders, ivory and sky, with flowers and small garlands of multicolored flowers flank the main brick, with interlacing stems, supporting corollas in polychrome, exuberant.
