Pupil of Madame Aimée - Zoé de Mirbel (1796 - 1849) Louise Besnard, née Vaillant, exhibited at the Salon from 1845 to 1867 and obtained a third class medal at those of 1847 and 1859 (Cf. Nathalie Lemoine - Bouchard. Painters in miniatures, 1650 - 1850, p.94 - Paris 2008)
