Yellow gold (750) pocket watch with cockerel. White enamelled copper dial, unsigned, with three counters with black inscriptions for the hours, for the names of the days of the week and for the days of the decades of each month and a blue enamelled semicircle in gold letters with the abbreviation of each month, according to the republican calendar. Mechanical movement with key winding, fusee and chain, and spiral, unsigned. Revolution-early Empire period. No hallmark. Before 1838. Gross weight : 122,93 g. - Diameter of the dial : 52 mm. Case diameter : 58 mm. Movement incomplete. Modified case, soldered pushrod, soldering, scratches, shocks and some crushing, cracks in the case back. Glass broken, two hands missing, chips at the keyhole. The republican calendar was officially in force between September 22, 1792 and December 31, 1805. The decimal system applied to the clock industry was hardly followed by the population and was abandoned in 1795.
