Júlio Pomar, committed against the dictatorship of Salazar, travels before settling in Paris. Affiliated with the movement of Portuguese post-surrealism, he produced an art of socio-political protest, which is expressed in painting but also in sculpture through assembly. He opts for symbolic subjects, often showing an introspective reflection on the world around him.
