Saint Paul hermit and Saint Anthony Abbot
Canvas
109 x 86 cm
St. Anthony, who had retired as a hermit in the desert, received a revelation: he had to find St. Paul, who had also retired. St. Anthony convinced St. Paul to find him, and a raven came to bring them a whole piece of bread that was twice as much as Paul usually received. This painting depicts the providential arrival of the raven as the two hermits talk after giving thanks to God.
