The impression of Napoleon's face was made on May 5, 1821 by Francis Burton, Archibald Arnott and François Antommarchi respectively. Although each of these three casts could be authenticated thanks to sources with differing opinions, the most widespread copies in the 19th and 20th centuries were taken from the mask executed by Antommarchi.
