[COURTISANES] Blanche d'ANTIGNY, born Marie ANTIGNY (1840-1874), actress, courtesan. Vintage print on albumen paper, business card size, 10.5 x 6 cm. By REUTLINGER. A great courtesan listed in the register of the Police des Mœurs RBB2, under the number 138: "She met the young Paul de Turenne, 26 rue de Berry, who spent more than 300,000 francs on her. The father had his son given legal advice. She also knew the son of Mr. Walewski, Mr. Bischostein. She gave large lunches, large dinners, even suppers. Her installation is the richest and most elegant [...]." Famous demi-mondaine and courtesan of very high standing, she inspired Emile Zola his character of Nana.
