Hunting harquebus with wheel, iron lock, barrel with double sides hallmarked AD in a shield and dated 1590, brass sighting system, walnut frame inlaid with stag horn engraved with scrolls and animals, lion, dolphins and bear, stock drawer decorated with a trophy of arms, blond horn butt plate, iron trigger guard with finger rest. Germany, Dresden, Abraham DRESSLER, 1590. Total length : 108 cm Condition : missing wood, one of the inlays decorated with a dolphin (at the end of the barrel) later. Bibliography : Eugène HEER, Der Neue Stockel, vol I, p. 306 : Abraham Dressler supplied arms to the armory of the Elector. Active from 1577-1590, it is customary to use his mark twice and sometimes with the year, as is the case here.
