Nasa. Rangers VII probe: view of the lunar surface a few minutes before the impact. The purpose of the "RANGERS" mission was to send a probe on the Moon before the will to crash it on the lunar ground. It was thus an operation of pure ballistic control. "RANGERS VII" was the first rocket of the program to function. Before the impact on the ground, the objective was to carry out close photographs of the lunar ground in order to study it. The "RANGERS" mission thus provides the first close-up views of the lunar surface. 1964. period silver print. Nasa logo and caption on the back. 25,4 x 20,6cm with margins.
