Nasa. RARE. Historic photograph of astrophotography. Observation from the Lick telescope. The Lick telescope is located on the Diablo Range in California. It is one of the very first terrestrial observatories where Man discovered the appearance of galaxies and nebulae in our universe. Here, an extra-galactic spiral nebula: Messier 63 in the Constellation of the Hounds. The brightest star next to the nebula is 9th magnitude. Circa 1930.period silver print on chamoix paper.
