CITES regulations for Hermès bags
Within the EU, "it has been established that all crocodile skins used by Hermès for the manufacture of its bags
bags are from populations or species listed in Appendix II or, in the case of Appendix I, that they come from
from farms registered with the CITES Secretariat (source code D). Consequently, vintage Hermes bags
crocodile vintage bags are exempted from CIC, either by their Annex B status, or by Article 62.4 of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 865/2006 of 4 December 2006.
865/2006 of the Commission of 4 May 2006" (CITES Ministerial Edito of 18/06/2018 on the sale without CIC
of vintage Hermès bags).
For an exit from the EU, a re-export certificate is required. An import permit may be required
in the third country of destination if the national regulations of that country so provide. These documents remain at
the buyer's responsibility.
