Album of incomplete games. [C. 1880-1929] ± 598 cards mounted under photo corners on 49 ff. protected by serpents. In a burgundy leatherette album mod. Good condition. Mostly woodcut and stencilled, from sets published in Turnhout by Van Genechten, Biermans, Brepols & Dierckx Zoon, Mesmaekers, etc. 494 cards with French ensigns of which 45 with apparent spine and 34 num. with punch, most of them with 2 heads, rounded corners, mostly with English or Belgian official portraits; 33 cards with Latin signs, full-length; 41 Asian cards (for Southeast Asia); 11 Lenormand-type cards; 11 small-format cards; 4 "alphabet" cards and 4 domino cards. Some advertising sets, e.g. for the coffee company De Roode Pelikaan, the distilleries Van Hoorebeke brothers in Eecloo, Jos. Janssens in Gheel, F. Beaujean-Soetemans in Liège and Th. Bekaert in Ghent, the cigarettes of the Cercle du Parc in Brussels, the Gros Chapelet Sapart-Piron in Wavre, the hat shop The High Life, etc. Several sets on particular themes, including the 50th anniversary of Belgium, the First World War, the "National Leaders" in India, views of cities in Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and Germany.
