Rare basket clock in lacquered sheet metal and gilded bronze, applied with clasps decorated with acanthus and foliage. The white enamelled dial with Roman numerals for the hours, located in Paris is surrounded by a frieze of leaves. The whole rests on an oval base finished by small flattened feet. Movement with suspension with wire.
Empire or Restoration period, circa 1800-1825.
Height 28,5 cm (wear to the gilding, to the sheet metal and a chip to the mail, movement in the state).
A similar clock signed Jacques Bollengier in The Hague is kept at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam under the number BK-1977-109. Our copy is to our knowledge the only other known model.
