2 parts in one vol. in-8, [10] ff, 214 pp, one f. errata; [8] ff, [120] pp. misfigured 118 (there are two ff. numbered 105-06), soft ivory vellum, smooth spine (contemporary binding). Upper section damaged, small lack of vellum on one cover, several pages soiled.
Very rare first edition of the first two (out of three) published texts by Florent Chouayne from Chartres (only the Suite des divertissements, published in 1647, is missing). The author, sieur de Chamblay, was born in Chartres at a date impossible to specify (Merlet gives 1610 without proof), he was receiver of the sizes of his election, then lieutenant of the bailliage (Cioranescu, XVII, 19 502 and 19 503. Merlet, Bibliothèque chartraine, pp. 82-83).
