Plate from the work "Campagnes de Louis XIV", a magnificent collection of 41 prints illustrating the facts of the conquest of Flanders, Franche-Comté and the Dutch expedition. Adam Frans Van der Meulen, an eyewitness to these events and commissioned by the Sun King, painted the military glories of the monarch to immortalize them. The paintings were placed to embellish the various castles of the king. 51,5 x 77,8 cm.
