STANDING LOVES SYMBOLIZING SUMMER AND AUTUMN
ON A BASE WITH A FRIEZE OF POSTS
Gilded carved wood.
H. 186 cm Base. 43 cm x 43,5 cm
Chips and missing gilding.
For one (the summer), accident to the laurel garland.
Small stuccoed restorations.
- Love with a sheaf of wheat for the Summer.
- Bacchus as a child, dressed in a lion skin and wearing
with bunches of grapes for the Autumn.
Legs in fluted column with a garland of laurels
garland of laurels maintained by three strong
rings.
The base is a frieze of flutes, gadroons and
of grooves.
On the base where is the love are carved,
for the one a sickle and a pair of scissors,
for the other.
These two important sculptures must have been originally
originally four in number.
